What is SII certification and who needs it?
A DTE (electronic tax document) is the official format the SII requires for issuing invoices, sales receipts, credit notes and dispatch guides in Chile. To issue them from an ERP such as Odoo, your company must first pass the SII’s test set: that is the certification. It is a process the company completes (not the software), and it is done only once per legal entity.
Certification is required for companies that are starting to invoice electronically with third-party software, or that are moving off the SII’s free invoicing system. If you already certified with another ERP and are migrating, you generally don’t need to repeat the process.
Plan prices are quoted in UF (Chile’s inflation-indexed unit of account) plus VAT.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How long does certification take?
Between 2 and 3 business days once we have received all the required information.
Can I certify the Basic set first and the Full set later?
Yes, no problem. You can certify the Basic set documents first and later certify only the export invoices, which are the documents that would still be missing.
I’m already certified and switching ERPs. Do I need to certify again?
No. Certification is a one-time process. You would only need to certify again if you went back to the SII’s free invoicing system.
What information do you need for the certification?
Your company’s legal name, the company RUT (Chilean tax ID), the legal representative’s full name and RUT, the legal representative’s digital signature certificate (.pfx or .pem file) and the certificate password.
